6月21日 New features in my MSN spaceI added 2 section-- every quotes and horoscope, to my MSN space yesterday, but I didnt take a close look at them. Now I just noticed that they are interesting ! Running--跑步I went for running yesterday afternoon at the Yunnan Garden. After running, I was so tired, till the evening.
The Yunnan Garden is just in front of my hall. Surprisingly, many NTU students do not go there to do exercise. But the garden is a nice place to me--green grasses, beautiful trees, simple pavilions,...Residents from the neighbourhood came here for exercise almost everyday--an old man with natural white hair liked to walk backwards along the path along the garden, and claps his hands for every step; a mid-aged woman did some strange movements; several men were running; ... I was the youngest one in the garden, so what? (nothing) I just ran 2 round, then I walked 1 more round, then ran again... Well, I should try to do a bit yoga under the tree -- my first experience.
Exercise is good . 6月13日 Meaning of COLOUR(6)--白
白色代表着纯洁和神圣。 White is a natural colour—snow is white, cloud is white, … It goes well with almost every colour (so I have most white clothes : p). Perhaps, it is because white symbolizes purity, cleanliness, softness, peace, and innocence. However, too much bright white can be blinding, and may cause headaches for some.
In early Westerns the good guy wore white while the bad guy wore black. White is the color for brides in western also. In the East, it's the color for mourning and funerals. Angels are typically depicted as wearing white to reflect royalty or of deities in the colour of white.
Some good phrases with white are:
Some bad ones are:
Internship--last dayYup, so I have finished my 22 weeks (a few day less) internship in Accenture (SC project). Well, I have given out a few small gifts and thank you cards to my close colleagues and supervisors. I really appreciate their help & kindness to me. They just quickly accepted me to be on of their big group. Everyday we needed to look for a big table for lunch. Definitely, I will keep in touch with them. In fact, there will be a K-TV outing in August waiting for me. Yeah.
Still, I feel so lucky to do my internship in such an established company, giving me good pay; a group of nice people working with; many goodies to collect; free trip free dinner; … Indeed, quite a number of colleagues asked whether I would go back to work after my graduation. I said I would think about it. Well, the only thing that makes me hesitate is the long working hour, although almost all IT firms require longer working hour…Anyway, I still have 1 year to enjoy my student life!
Ha, it worth to mention about 大长今Da Chang Jin (also called 대장금Dae Jang Geum or Jewel in the Palace). It accompanies me every night from 10pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday, during my internship. Now my internship ended, this show is going to its end also. It is a good show.
Ok, so now……let me take a break, then start doing my project……..Enjoy my holiday! 6月8日 World Cup rules to women ?!Yup, just received an E-mail from Mr Jojo (One of my male JC classmates), which states all rules to mothers, wives, girlfriends and daughters. They sound funny, but quite true ah. Read the followings:
Extremely important advice and recommendations to be passed on to wives, girlfriends, fiancés, mothers, sisters, daughters, etc. (to all women in general) These rules are to be communicated prior to the World Cup in June/July this year...
LIST OF RULES
1. From 9th June to 9th July 2006, you should read the sports section of the newspaper so that you are aware of what is going on regarding the World Cup, and that way you will be able to join in the conversations. If you fail to do this, then you will be looked at in a bad way, or you will be totally ignored. DO NOT complain about not receiving any attention.
2. During the World Cup, the television is mine, at all times, without any exceptions. If you even take a glimpse of the remote control, you will lose it (your eye).
3. If you have to pass by in front of the TV during a game, I don’t mind, as long as you do it crawling on the floor and without distracting me. If you decide to stand nude in front of the TV, make sure you put clothes on right after because if you catch a cold, I wont have time to take you to the doctor or look after you during the World Cup month.
4. During the games I will be blind, deaf and mute, unless I require a refill of my drink or something to eat. You are out of your mind if you expect me to listen to you, open the door, answer the telephone, or pick up the baby that just fell from the second floor... it wont happen.
5. It would be a good idea for you to keep at least 2 six packs in the fridge at all times, as well as plenty of things to nibble on, and please do not make any funny faces to my friends when they come over to watch the games. In return, you will be allowed to use the TV between 12am and 6am, unless they replay a good game that I missed during the day.
6. Please, please, please!! if you see me upset because one of my teams is losing, DO NOT say “get over it, its only a game”, or “don’t worry, they’ll win next time”. If you say these things, you will only make me angrier and I will love you less. Remember, you will never ever know more about football than me and your so called “words of encouragement” will only lead to a break up or divorce.
7. You are welcome to sit with me to watch one game and you can talk to me during halftime but only when the commercials are on, and only if the halftime scores is pleasing me. In addition, please note I am saying “one” game; hence do not use the World Cup as a nice cheesy excuse to “spend time together”.
8. The replays of the goals are very important. I don’t care if I have seen them or I haven’t seen them, I want to see them again. Many times.
9. Tell your friends NOT to have any babies, or any other child related parties or gatherings that requires my attendance because: a) I will not go, b) I will not go, and c) I will not go. But, if a friend of mine invites us to his house on a Sunday to watch a game, we will be there in a flash.
10. The daily World Cup highlights show on TV every night is just as important as the games themselves. Do not even think about saying “but you have already seen this...why don’t you change the channel to something we can all watch??”, the reply will be: “Refer to Rule #2 of this list”.
11. And finally, please save your expressions such as “Thank God the World Cup is only every 4 years”. I am immune to these words, because after this comes the Champions League, Premier League, Italian League, Spanish League, etc etc.
12. Thank you for your co-operation.
Regards, Men of the World
6月1日 I am this type of gf?!I have taken a test on Tickle, and it says that I am this type of girl friend. Well, it sounds true, you know.
Yun, you're an Amorous AdventurerCarefree and fun, you are easily excited when it comes to new experiences — and that includes relationships. It's not that you see boyfriends as frivolous pursuits, but you enjoy the art of the chase, and you work to make sure that long-term relationships maintain that sense of adventure and surprise. Had Indian FoodFinally I had an Indian meal at a traditional Indian restaurant near Little India, after I have been in Singapore for almost 8 years. Well, I should say that I could accept Indian food, although they taste about the same, and share the common colour—red or orange. Sometimes, it took us a while to differentiate fish from chicken. Oh, there was one sharp meat dish, which tasted like some mixed beams to me. But, I just felt so full till the evening that I could not eat much for dinner. My colleague asked my preference of spending S$26 in an Indian restaurant or in a Chinese one. Of course you know my answer—I am more fond of my own culture, so my type of food. Food is definitely a kind of culture and tradition. After all, I appreciate all kinds of culture and food, and I will still take my own kind. |
